Ukraine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will expand international cooperation in the defense field. The relevant agreement was reached during working meetings between the official delegation Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia, who was on a working visit to Ukraine, and the office of the military attaché with representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the “Ukroboronprom” company.

The agreement on the extension of cooperation was signed on February 5, 2020, by the Chairman of the delegation – Assistant Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Aish and Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Zagorodniuk.

Also during the visit, on the territory of the State Enterprise “Antonov”, there was a presentation of serial and perspective weapons samples, which was organized by the special exporters of “Ukroboronprom” – the State Enterprise “Progress” and the State Enterprise “SpecTechnoExport”.

Delegations of the Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia demonstrated the latest developments in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles and anti-aircraft vehicles, radar and EW systems, Antonov transport aircraft, armored vehicles, small arms, and the development of the SSC, Luk, -360MC “Neptune”, “Alder”, high-precision rockets RK-10, PTRK “Stuhna” and “Corsar”.

It should be noted that Saudi Arabia is a significant defense partner of Ukraine and actively buys Ukrainian weapons. First of all – domestic anti-tank complexes from SSCB “Luch”. As of 2020, several hundred “Stuhna” and “Corsar” supplies and more than 1,000 rockets are being shipped, totaling more than $ 165 million.

At the same time, given the increased interest of the Saudi delegation in the missile complexes “Neptune” and “Alder” from SSCB “Luch”, Raybird-3 unmanned aerial vehicle from Skyeton, radars of the 80K6 family from “Iskra” and complexes of electronic warfare, further military and technical cooperation expansion is possible between countries.
