The new UAV was ordered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine under a state defense order. Taking into account its technical capabilities, tactical unmanned aerial system ACS-3 will provide the Ukrainian military an opportunity to conduct intelligence on a qualitatively different level. UAV weighing 21 kg and capable of overcoming a distance of 2,500 km, and can remain in the air for up to 24 hours during one flight.
Since 2019, Skyeton has the permission to independently carry out foreign trade activities, concluding contracts for the main current profile – supply and development of UAVs.
Skyeton, ahead of the schedule, will supply to the Armed Forces of Ukraine the UAV ACS-3 in July.
This was announced at a press conference at Ukrinform by CEO, Mykola Toptun.
“The new unmanned complex was ordered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the state defense order. It was developed for three years and tested in 2016-2018 years. The complex will be transferred in July – much earlier than the specified term”, said Toptun.
He noted that, given its technical capabilities, the tactical UAV ACS-3 would provide the Ukrainian military an opportunity to conduct intelligence on a qualitatively different level. During a single flight, UAV weighing 21 kg is capable of overcoming a distance of 2,500 km; it can stay in the air for up to 24 hours. Cruising speed – 120 km per hour, maximum speed – 160 km.
In his class of speed, this is the fastest aircraft, which has no analogs in the world, said Roman Knyazhenko, CCO at Skyeton. He noticed that there are only five production companies in the world, whose products have similar characteristics. He expressed the hope that “our birds will soon fly around the world.” In this context, Roman informed that the company’s offices were already open in Canada and the UAE.
Yulia Tarasenko, Key Account Manager at Skyeton, noted that thereafter, plans are to increase the duration of the flight from 24 hours to 32 hours. In addition, the complex is guaranteed to keep equipment, in particular, surveillance cameras after hiding inside the aircraft. For UAV there is no need for a special surface for launch and landing. Starting and unpacking require two operators and 15 minutes. All these factors are interested in foreign partners who intend to purchase a complex for monitoring of the ecological situation in different parts of the world.
Participants in the press conference did not name the amount of the contract with the Armed Forces, referring to state secrets. At the same time, they noticed that the complexes were of interest to the Navy Forces of Ukraine and border guards.
Skyeton was founded by a group of engineers and pilots in 2006. The company developed and supplied light air sports aircraft to customers in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and the post-Soviet area. Since 2019, it has the permission to independently carry out foreign trade activities, concluding contracts for the main current profile – supply and development of UAVs.
