Today is the Day of the...
On Feb 13, 2025, during test flights in Ukraine, Skyeton’s modified Raybird reached over 9,000 meters in altitude. This is a rare achievement for a sub-30 kg UAS. Such an altitude was typically only accessible to unmanned aerial vehicles weighing 150+ kg.
Raybird is a small tactical unmanned aviation system designed for extended surveillance and reconnaissance missions. The Raybird modification that reached the altitude has a wider wingspan of 4.7 meters and an electric engine compared to the standard version.

Roman Knyazhenko, CEO of Skyeton:
“We’re always working to improve Raybird and expand its capabilities. Our goal is to make it the best all-in-one solution for complex missions. Reaching over 9000 meters in altitude proves our dedication to innovations in the sUAS sector. With a real-time data link of up to 225 km, one Raybird system can handle a mission of any complexity single-handedly.”
With its increased operational ceiling, Raybird sUAS can work in challenging environments like high-altitude mountainous terrain. This advancement also opens new opportunities for scientific research, expanding the system’s potential applications beyond surveillance and reconnaissance.
Combat experience and 350 000+ flight hours gained in Ukraine proves Raybird’s reliability, and cost-effectiveness, making it a valuable tool for defense and commercial missions.
