Today is the Day of Remembrance for the defenders of Donetsk Airport – the legendary ‘cyborgs’ who defended the airport during the war in eastern Ukraine in 2014–2015.
They became a symbol of fearlessness, resilience, and dedication. A symbol of people who proved that Ukrainians will not retreat and will defend their home — under any circumstances.
This fight was a shared one — of soldiers, medics, and volunteers. And it is this struggle that entered history as an example of endurance stronger than concrete.
