Today, the world commemorates the victims of the Holocaust — one of the greatest tragedies in human history.

On this day, 81 years ago, the troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front liberated one of the largest Nazi death camps — Auschwitz-Birkenau.

The brutal policy of the Nazi regime was aimed at the physical extermination of millions of people and the destruction of the identity and culture of Jews and representatives of other nationalities and groups.

For Ukraine, these events of the past are still felt painfully today. We live in a reality where russia cynically kills civilians, and the fight for freedom and the right to live in one’s own home continues every day.

We remember and honor the victims of the Holocaust.
