As a UAS Pilot / Technician at our Munich office (Oberpfaffenhofen airfield), you’ll be part of a cross-functional team developing and operating some of the most capable tactical UAS platforms on the market.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and support Skyeton’s Raybird UAS for training, testing, and field missions.
  • Conduct deployments to NATO countries, Ukraine, and other locations as required.
  • Collaborate with teams in Germany, Ukraine, and across Europe.
  • Perform maintenance, integration, and technical checks on UAS hardware and payloads.
  • Support internal testing, validation, and demonstrations for customers.
  • Manage pre- and post-flight documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Remote pilot certificate (civilian or military).
  • Experience flying drones in operational or tactical environments.
  • Technical background or hands-on experience as a drone technician (bonus).
  • Combat deployment or military experience (bonus).
  • Valid EU/International driver’s license.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
  • Willingness to travel extensively, primarily within Europe and Ukraine.
  • Home office available up to 1 day per week, depending on team and flight schedule.

Mechanical Design Engineer (Kinematics)

In this role, you will design mechanical assemblies and perform kinematic calculations for advanced UAV subsystems with moving parts such as manipulators and actuators.

Responsibilities

  • Develop full 3D models of assemblies in SolidWorks in accordance with design documentation principles.
  • Design joints, quick-release connectors, and access systems for electronics and power components.
  • Select composite, polymer, and metal materials and account for their physical-mechanical properties.
  • Design test rigs and tools for mechanical/functional validation.
  • Simulate manipulator motion and perform Denavit-Hartenberg-based kinematic calculations.
  • Analyze dynamic loads during transient and impact events using simulation tools.
  • Select actuator types (servo motors, dampers) and configure appropriate kinematic pairs.

Requirements

  • Higher technical education in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical or design engineering.
  • Solid background in general mechanical design and component engineering.
  • Knowledge of strength of materials and mechanism theory with basic engineering calculations.
  • Fluency in SolidWorks (solid and surface modeling, assemblies).
  • Experience in MATLAB/Simulink and/or RoboAnalyzer.
  • Understanding of industry standards (STANAG 4370, MIL-STD 810).
  • Experience working with composites and tooling (molds, dies).

Responsibilities

  • Define technical requirements and system architecture for UAV platforms.
  • Select and integrate avionics, sensors, power systems, payloads, and communication modules.
  • Ensure compatibility and interaction across hardware and software subsystems.
  • Decompose tasks and coordinate execution across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with electronics, mechanical, and software engineers, as well as production and test teams.
  • Support the full lifecycle from concept to flight testing and validation.
  • Document system requirements, calculations, testing protocols, and design records.
  • Review and approve engineering documentation according to standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in systems engineering, avionics, mechatronics, electronics, IT, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in complex systems development and integration.
  • Hands-on experience with UAV or aerospace/military systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in systems design, hardware/software integration, and validation.
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation and development lifecycles.
  • Teamwork and coordination experience across engineering functions.
  • Bonus: English B1+, familiarity with MIL-STD, ISO, DO-178C/DO-254, STANAG, or EUROCAE standards.
