Sensor for early wildfire detection on the basis of UAS "Raybird-3"

2019 was a turning point for all humanity in the wake of the conclusions reached by world organizations: our planet is on the verge of an ecological disaster. 

Natural disasters have become very common: forest fires occur in areas where they were previously unpredicted (Alaska, Northern Canada), earthquakes and volcanic eruptions increase in seismically active regions after years of lull. All of these processes are the result of global warming and climate change. The situation is critical, but there is still time to improve it and make a contribution to saving the planet. 

We believe that social responsibility is an important part of every company today. By creating UAS “Raybird- 3”, we contribute to the development of the latest technologies. That’s why, to preserve the planet, the development of a new sensor was started by the experts of the SKYETON company, which will make timely detection of forest fires possible. 

Throughout 2018-2019, approximately 50 million hectares of forests have been burned on the planet (not including Australia fire data). The threat is not only the reduction of the amount of timber and resources for the normal functioning of life but also the disappearance of entire species of animal populations, leading to a change in the entire ecosystem on Earth. 

The special feature of the sensor is the ability to detect flames in the early stages, which will prevent further spread of fire over large areas. The sensor may cover a sufficiently large area, in the case of determining the temperature that meets the predefined criteria, to signal to a ground control station, which is displayed as a point with coordinates on the map at the location of ignition. 

The use of UAS “Raybird-3” with a new sensor will provide many possibilities, namely: a significant reduction in the time to survey large areas during periods of fire; ensure long-lasting fire intelligence without the risk of life-threatening personnel; possibility of localization of sources of ignition; timely provision of rapid response services to fire stations and their distribution across combustion areas for effective fire fighting. 

Given the characteristics of the complex and the sensor in one hour, it will be possible to survey 1000 km of territory. 

To date, the development of a sensor for the detection of forest fires is in the process of completion. We will be testing in the near future. 

The SKYETON team is confident that the new UAS “Raybird-3” in combination with a fire detection sensor, can be an effective solution to environmental catastrophes.
